Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson divorced
They said it wouldn't last ... and they were right -- because Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson are officially divorced ... after a judge signed off on the split.

According to court docs filed in L.A. County Superior Court and obtained by TMZ ... the marriage was formally terminated on November 22 ... after a 3-and-a-half year run.

As for the couple's kid -- Bronx Mowgli -- it's unclear how the couple settled their custody disagreement ... because the details of the divorce settlement are being kept under wraps.  TMZ previously reported, Pete wanted joint custody of their son ... but Ashlee had checked the box to get primary physical custody.

The former couple also worked out a secret deal regarding the division of their multi-million dollar empire.

As we previously reported, Wentz chalked up the split to the couple simply growing apart.

'Workaholics' Brings Out Adam DeVine's 'Inner Child'

Actor pulls back the curtain on his Adam Demamp, who was just named one of MTV News' Top 50 TV Characters of 2011.

Adam DeVine is one-third of the sophomoric (and absolutely hilarious) buddy/stoner comedy "Workaholics." On the Comedy Central show, DeVine plays a character named — wait for it — Adam, a twentysomething with no aspirations other than getting weird with his two best friends when they're not idling at their generic, low-rung desk jobs at TelAmeriCorp.

Since the show's debut earlier this year, DeVine has created his own catchphrase and graced the audience with such sight gags as becoming a bodybuilder for a day, getting dragged by a car after he'd harpooned its tire and, most shockingly, tucking in a part of his body that ... well, we'll let him explain.

Now that MTV News has named DeVine's Adam Demamp one of the Top 50 TV Characters of 2011, we caught up with the funnyman to pull back the curtain on his "Workaholics" alter ego:

On his favorite scene to shoot: "The bodybuilding episode from season one was probably one of my favorites, only because I've always had one of those weird little things in the back of my head saying that if I didn't want to be an actor and be someone that is an actual human being that can assimilate in society, I would want to be a bodybuilder and just get weirdly tan, grease my muscles, wear a Speedo. So the fact that I got to play one on TV really, really brought the inner child out of me."

Check out our Top 50 TV Characters of 2011, 21-30, including a depressed meth cook and a football coach with a heart of gold.

On his catchphrase, "Oh, I like that": "I like 'Oh, I like that' only because that's something my dad always said, and I've since incorporated it into the show, which he gets a kick out of. It's all for Mom and Dad. Surprisingly, they love the show. My Thanksgiving was weird: It was all about keeping the turkey 'tight butthole' and the string-bean casserole getting my cousins 'torqued.' "

On the mangina: "That was one of the things that we were so surprised that they, 1. Let us do, and 2. Let us show it. It was like, we wrote it, thinking they were going to turn it down, and they were like, 'Well, we can just blur it out.' And then we shot it, and we sent over a cut to Comedy Central to approve, and we sent over a cut that was un-blurred just for shock value, and they were like, 'We love it! We're gonna fight for it! We're gonna talk to the censors and make sure we can do it!' There's a part of me that's like, 'Yeah! We beat the censors!' Then there's a part of me that's like, 'My pubic bone is gonna be exposed to the world.' And then that part of me got really excited, because I have a really handsome pubic bone. I think it's a cable-television first. I mean, 'Frasier' used to do it all the time, so it's been on network TV. Niles was always tuckin' back to impress Roz."

On resembling his television character: "I think Demamp comes out on beer six and then leaves my body at beer 11. I'll get real wild after beer six to beer 11. And then after my 11th beer, I'll just get really quiet, whereas Adam Demamp I think would start a house fire."

As 2011 nears its end, more Best of 2011 lists are rolling out. On Wednesday (December 7), Entertainment Weekly revealed their Entertainer of the Year: "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe.

This year's cover boy, who will next star in the 2012 thriller "The Woman in Black," wrapped up the beloved and successful "Harry Potter" franchise before becoming the toast of Broadway in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." Proving himself a worthy candidate for the prize, Radcliffe just made Forbes' list of bankable box-office stars.

Radcliffe is joined by Adele, the cast of "Bridesmaids," Hugh Jackman, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, Viola Davis and "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin in EW's annual issue, which hits newsstands December 9.

Radcliffe — who was also chosen as the actor MTV News was most thankful for in 2011 — opened up to us earlier this fall about his ever-evolving career.

"It's been a great first year away from 'Potter,' " he said. "It's been very successful. I've done some work I'm really proud of in that time, particularly onstage in 'How to Succeed.' Just the process of doing it and doing it and doing it, I've got so much better, I think, during the run, as is the way it should be. It's been a great year, but I think next year is the big one for me. 'The Woman in Black' is coming out, and I've also got a couple other things I'll be doing. The next two or three years are going to be pretty important, I think, and if [2011] is not a breakout year, it's a breakaway year."

In the issue, the Entertainment Weekly honorees are toasted by some of Hollywood's biggest stars, including Julia Roberts, Amy Poehler, Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock. "I went and saw 'The Book of Mormon' on Broadway, and was so offended I peed my pants twice," Bullock writes about Stone and Parker in the issue. "Maybe three times. I lost count I was so offended."

Poehler offers up her take on "Game of Thrones" author Martin: "[He] is such a great writer that it makes people angry. Tyrion the Imp has some of the best one-liners I have ever read from someone about to die. Did I mention a lot of people die?"

Taylor Swift was the mag's 2010 Entertainer of the Year.

The Bachelor 2012 Preview: Ben Flajnik, No Pants Edition!

Ben Flajnik makes his debut as The Bachelor January 2, and if this three-minute preview is any indication, we may be in for the wildest season in Bachelor history.

Okay, yes, Chris Harrison says that every season. But we're serious here!

Ben, who was famously rejected by Bachelorette star Ashley Hebert, certainly looks like he has his hands full with these 25 fame-seeking aspiring trophy wives ...

Wow. Just a couple of observations / questions we have after that ...

  • “When I’m with this woman, I find myself starting to fall in love.” - Ben Flajnik. Nice to see he's reading the same recycled scripts as every Bachelor.
  • Do the story editors trying to spice up the show in its 16th season by adding a ton of profanity, or are the girls just badasses who are ad-libbing?
  • Between the California winemaker digging up dirt, driving a tractor, and lugging lumber, this has to be the best Bachelor pre-roll footage ever.
  • That clip of Ben quasi-telling off Ashley is the best.
  • Was that a gratuitous half-naked a$$ shot?

January 2 can't get here fast enough!
