'All of this comes with the territory,' Ush tells MTV News of paternity-suit drama.

Usher might not have known how big Justin Bieber would become when he discovered him a few years back, but he was pretty sure he had found something special.
Since Bieber burst on the scene with his My World EP back in 2009, the 17-year-old has grown up with the world watching. He's gone from up-and-comer to full-fledged pop sensation, racking up chart-topping albums and a box-office hit and becoming an all-around mega-heartthrob — all in two years.
Of course, with the good does come negative attention as well. Recently, Bieber was hit with a paternity lawsuit, which has since been dropped.
Usher, no stranger to his own controversies, had these words for the Biebs: "Stay strong. And know that all of this comes with the territory."
Aside from the drama, Usher is especially proud of Bieber's charitable side. His mentor said he "absolutely" knew the kid from Stratford, Ontario, had a big heart from the start.
"To write a check is only half of it, but when you truly take on a responsibility to be a philanthropist, you accept an effort, and I really think that Pencils of Promise is something that has a very bright future," Usher told MTV News at an event for the charity, noting that Bieber is a only a small part of it.
Usher — who appears on Bieber's new Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe — gives credit to the folks surrounding the teen superstar, including manager Scooter Braun. "Just judging from the determination and the will power of the entire team around Justin, I see a very, very promising [future] for him as a philanthropist," Usher said.

Channing Tatum's days as Duke might be numbered in Jon Chu's sequel.

Bruce Willis in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation"
Photo: Paramount Pictures
Either Jon Chu and I have a lot in common, or the "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" director was checking in on me during my formative years and caught me spending hours playing with my Joe toys. At least that's the impression I'm getting from the brand-new "G.I. Joe" trailer, which looks like it was lifted directly from my childhood and projected onto the big screen. (You could have said hi by the way, Jon!)
Between fan-favorite character Roadblock (played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) ripping enemies to shreds with an automatic heavy gun, Snake Eyes and Jinx repelling from a mountainside cleaving bad-guy ninjas along the way, and a perfectly delivered one-liner from Bruce Willis, it's safe to say that every square inch of the "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" trailer is filled with win.
But in the midst of all that action, there are some hidden details you may have missed. To that end, here are five key scenes from the "G.I. Joe" trailer you'll want to pay attention to. Warning: Some potential spoilers ahead.
Bye-Bye, Duke?
Hey, there's Channing Tatum! Wait ... where'd he go? There are only a handful of Tatum appearances in the trailer, which comes as a bit of a shock, considering his lead role in the last "G.I. Joe" flick. Perhaps he's being downplayed to show off the Rock and an army of ninjas (totally cool by me), or perhaps his absence hints at a darker fate in store for Duke.
Mouse Trap
In other folks-who-are-likely-to-die news, there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance from Joseph Mazzello as Mouse near the top of the trailer: He's sitting right next to Flint (D.J. Cotrona) on the aircraft that's unknowingly leading the Joes to certain doom. Given that Mouse isn't a household name in the "Joe" community, as well as the absolute mayhem we see next, chances are very high that the "Jurassic Park" vet's days are numbered.
Cobra Rises
Very few will complain about the lack of "Rise of Cobra" carryover in the new "Retaliation" trailer, but if there's one thing all "Joe" fans can get behind, it's the return of President Zartan. His position at the top of the U.S. government was easily the most tantalizing cliffhanger in "Rise," and based on the Cobra banners draped over the side of the White House, "Retaliation" is following through on that potential in a very, very big way.
Hail to the Chief
Lest you think Zartan is the movie's big bad, even the President has someone to answer to. Like Mouse, Cobra Commander makes an incredibly brief appearance in the "Retaliation" trailer, sandwiched between Zartan and new baddie Firefly (Ray Stevenson) at the one-minute mark. He's sporting his classic metal face mask, easily the character's most popular look, and by all appearances, the commander has come a long way from Joseph Gordon-Levitt's winky goofball performance in "Rise." Now, if only we knew who was playing him this time around ...
Kiss Those Lips Goodbye!
Read my lips: Snake Eyes' rubber-masked ninja mouth is gone, gone, gone! Almost as offensive as nipples on the Batsuit, Snake's inexplicable on-costume mouth was a huge bone of contention for the "Joe" fanbase. Thankfully, we can kiss those lips goodbye and keep them firmly in the past where they belong. Also, even if Snake Eyes still looked mouthy, he slaughters an army of evil ninjas while running along a mountainside. That's so cool that even rubber lips would be mostly forgivable.

'She sent it through her A&R people to give to me,' MJB says of My Life II's 'Love a Woman.'

Not sure how to keep your woman happy? Just ask Mary J. Blige and Beyoncé. The two divas lay out a tutorial on how to court the fairer sex with "Love a Woman," from MJB's upcoming My Life II ... The Journey Continues, Act I. But fans may be surprised to learn that the long-overdue collaboration was nearly a one-woman affair.
B initially recorded the song for her4 LP, but thought it would be a better fit as a duet with Mary.
"It was a song she recorded for her album that didn't fit her album and she sent it through her A&R people to give to me," Mary revealed to MTV News. "When the song came, her voice was on it completely and it was just amazing and I wasn't sure that they wanted to give me this record because it was so amazing."
The soothing track starts off with Mary sweetly singing, "So you think you know how to love a woman/ But I think it's still some things you need to know." As the flowery instrumental builds with a serene piano melody and accentuating horns, MJB goes on to warn that a woman needs more than material things. B turns up the heat demanding that she needs "more than sex," she needs to be made love to. From there, the song plays as a lyrical how-to. Communication is a must, as is respect, but coming home late and being a one-minute man is a no-no.
While both the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul and an expecting Queen B display good chemistry on the song, a video for the track may be hard to pull off. "I'm sure 'Love a Woman' would be a single but I can't really trouble Beyoncé right now; she's pregnant and I'm sure she's doing her stuff," Mary said. "So whenever she's ready, if she's ever ready, I'm ready and it'll be great."
Should MJB and B shoot a video for "Love a Woman"? Tell us in the comments!

Kicking off the New Year with a high-profile cover, Kate Winslet is featured on the front of Glaour Paris magazine?s January 2012 issue.
The ?Titanic? hottie looked marvelous with brassy blond locks, purple eye shadow, and a black leather jacket as she works the camera like a seasoned pro.
And though she?s been thoroughly enjoying life as of late, Kate?s ex-boyfriend Louis Dowler has been pining for her ever since their split.
Dowler told press, "I don't think Kate behaved well and it is still very raw for me. I was in love with her and you can't switch that off overnight. I'm not sure Kate treated me well."
"I thought we were inseparable. I certainly haven't found anyone else since. ...I don't want to go into details but it wasn't a straight forward break-up. I'm a laid-back guy, so I am not walking around with a long face - but I do still hold a torch for her."

Reworked tune features an opening verse by Minaj as Ke$ha sings atop Spears' vocals throughout the song.

Britney Spears isn't the only pop titan dancing until the world ends: Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha have joined forces to add a new spin on an all-female remix of Femme Fatale's second single, "Till the World Ends."
The reworked dance anthem, which leaked online Friday (April 22), appears to have surfaced earlier than expected as noted by a series of countdowns on all three of the stars' websites.
Mixing the dance tune's original sonic swirls with heavier bass, Britney tourmate Minaj starts off the remix by throwing down an aggressive verse, in which she calls out a female hater: "A-A-A-A-A-AYE!/ Chimpanzees is hatin', but I take it all in stride/ Put her in a jungle with bananas on the side/ Told you they'd revive your career, but somebody lied/ I ain't talkin' poultry when I say this chicken's fried."
After Minaj spits a few introductory bars, Spears delivers the song's first verse before an introduction for the all-star trio. "It's Britney, bitch. I'm Nicki Minaj and that's Ke$ha!" the Young Money MC proclaims.
Ke$ha, who originally wrote the track for the pop princess, takes part in singing the club-ready track's chorus. Spears soon takes back control of the song as Ke$ha shadows the singer's lines toward the end of the second verse and bridge. Unlike the original version, the "Till the World Ends" remix also features a stuttering dubstep dance break.
News of a star-studded collaboration was hinted earlier this week when producer Dr. Luke tweeted, "@NICKIMINAJ killed it tonight!!!! thanks!!!"
