Demi Lovato fans rejoice! With the release of her new song "Skyscraper" on Tuesday, now comes word that the video for the single will also drop this week.

The "Skyscraper" video will premiere on Wednesday on E! News, followed by a Vevo premiere on Thursday. Lovato will also sit down with Ryan Seacrest to discuss the video and the song. This is the singer's first release since leaving treatment earlier this year.

"This isn't just a single or a song to me. This represents the strength of an incredibly difficult journey I've been on that will hopefully provide the faith and inspiration to others going through the hardest issues of their own. #STAYSTRONG #SKYSCAPER," the singer wrote on Twitter over the weekend.

The video was directed by Mark Pellington (Michael Jackson, Moby, Foo Fighters) and the song was produced by Toby Gab, whose credits include working with pop princesses Beyoncé, Fergie and Kelly Clarkson.

"My first single is really special to me — to me it symbolizes my journey from the person I was to the happy healthy person I am today, and the fact that people are able to rise above anything, despite the odds."

The song is the lead single off Lovato's next studio album, set for release this fall. Little is known about the album, but she did reveal on Twitter that she had recorded a duet for it. "With my new album, I'm hoping to provide inspiration for girls everywhere who are going through the same issues I've faced," she said. "I think this will come through in a lot of the material."

Kristen Stewart's Van Nuys Passport Renewal Run

Tending to her daily errands, Kristen Stewart was busy getting her passport renewed in Van Nuys, CA on Monday afternoon (July 11).

The Bella Swan babe looked cute and casual in a blue Phillies t-shirt with 7 For All Mankind jeans and sneakers as she headed into the local office to make sure she's able to travel overseas.

The sighting comes shortly after Miss Stewart made a trip north of the border to visit boyfriend Robert Pattinson on the Toronto, Canada set of "Cosmopolis.

Escorted to the workplace by a chauffeured SUV, new footage of the "Twilight" hottie's arrival has just been released by ET - with the nighttime video showing her easing out of her ride while met by her man's bodyguard before being escorted into his trailer while bringing along Pattinson's pet pooch for the rendez vous.

It looks like 4 is going to be #1. Beyoncé's latest effort is projected to debut at #1 on the albums chart after selling an estimated 300,000 units in its first week, according to Billboard.

Those sales would place her in the middle of the pack of fellow divas with albums out this year. Britney Spears' Femme Fatale sold 276,000 records her first week; Lady Gaga's Born This Way sold an impressive 1.1 million records, and Adele's 21 sold 352,000 records right out the gate (though it's had much more staying power than the others).

The aptly titled fourth release from B would also be her fourth #1 album debut, though the numbers will likely be below her previous first-week sales. I Am ... Sasha Fierce sold 482,000 in its first week, in 2008, and her sophomore effort, 2006's B'Day, sold 541,000 albums. Her debut solo effort, Dangerously in Love, debuted with 317,000 units sold.

Fans will go behind the scenes of the making of 4 in an MTV special, "Beyoncé: Year of 4," airing Thursday night (June 30). In the half-hour doc, Beyoncé talks about taking some time off before making the record, which features studio work from The-Dream, Kanye West and Andre 3000.

"My life was award shows and tour buses and hotels, and it kind of goes by so fast ... I couldn't even hear it anymore," she says of her whirlwind schedule. "I'm just thinking about the next shoot ... the next video ... the next tour ... I never even realized I needed a year off. And I never realized I don't know how to take a year off."

Tune in to "Beyoncé: Year of 4," airing Thursday, June 30, at 7 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and BET, and at 7:30 p.m. on VH1 and Palladia. Encore presentations follow on MTV.com, MTV Hits and MTV Jams.

Ke$ha Is Channeling 'Sexiness' Of '70s Rock For New Album

Glitter-heavy pop star tells MTV News she's going for 'balls-out, irreverent rock and roll.'

Ke$ha's already got the face paint down pat, and, during recent live sets, she's even taken to guzzling blood out of a human heart, so it should come as no surprise that, on her upcoming album, the pop star is taking things back to the most theatrical era of rock: the prop-heavy, arena-spanning heyday of the 1970s.

Ke$h revealed her plans over the weekend in Los Angeles, on the red carpet of KIIS FM's annual Wango Tango concert, where she told MTV News that the follow-up to her breakout Animal album (and, we suppose, Cannibal too) would be heavy on hard riffs and light on pretty much everything else.

"The next album ... I've been working on writing on the road, but as far as a sound, I just know it's gonna be balls-out, irreverent rock and roll," she said. "I've been pretty much in this '70s rock and roll kick and I just want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that's just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f---, so we'll definitely put a bit of rock and roll in it."

So, does that mean that fans can expect the likes of Alice Cooper or Peter Frampton to show up on her new album? Perhaps. Because while Ke$ha's new album is still a ways off, she's already begun calling in favors, hoping to line up a killer collabo for the new disc.

"I'm trying, trust me," she laughed. "I really would love to connect with one of my idols, I mean, that's my dream. I'm working on it."

What do you think of Ke$ha going rock for her next album? Tell us in the comments!

Lady Gaga, Adele, Others Get Record Industry Back In Black

Strong sales by female artists have put industry in positive territory for first time since 2004.

Beyoncé may have been on to something with that whole "Run the World (Girls)," business after all. Though Queen B's single didn't set the world on fire, in the first half of 2011, a number of her fellow divas — Adele, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry — have helped the music business achieve something it hasn't been able to in nearly eight years: positive growth.

According to figures released on Wednesday by Nielsen SoundScan, overall album sales rose 3.6 percent to 221.5 million during the first half of this year. That marks the first time since 2004 that sales have been in the black for an industry that has suffered a decade-long slide thanks to rampant Internet piracy and slumping album sales as a result of fans cherry-picking singles on iTunes and other download services.

As we continue to hash out which songs will win this year's Summer Jam crown, a number of the female contenders are among the artists who've helped turn the sales tide, including Perry, Nicki Minaj, Adele and Gaga. (Eminem hasn't been a slouch either, thanks to his smash comeback Recovery, which recently passed the 1 million album download mark.)

Adele has already moved more than 2.5 million copies of her breakout hit 21 since February, along with 4.1 million single downloads of "Rolling in the Deep," while Gaga's Born This Way has shifted more than 1.5 million units. Perry has been doing her part as well, scoring a string of hit singles, including "E.T.," which has sold more than 4.1 million digital units this year.

Britney Spears' tourmate Minaj has the year's ninth best-selling album so far with her debut, Pink Friday, with 1.4 million in sales to date, 556,000 of which have come in this calendar year.

Like Nicki, Rihanna has helped boost numbers this year with an album that came out in late 2010. Loud has sold more than 1.3 million copies to date, 598,000 of which came in 2011.

According to Billboard, the ladies aren't alone, as British folk rock revivalists Mumford & Sons have been doing some heavy lifting too, selling 982,000 copies of their album Sigh No More so far this year. Country singer Jason Aldean's My Kinda Party has also done its part, moving 763,000 units, as has Bruno Mars' debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, which has sold 686,000 copies.

It's unclear at this point if the trend can sustain itself through the rest of the year. But with strong summer tour sales by Perry and rescheduled dates from Adele on the horizon, not to mention the promise of new albums from Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Jay-Z, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Willow Smith, Rick Ross, Coldplay, and "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery, the industry may just be able to breathe a (small) sigh or relief for the first time in a long time.

Demi Lovato To Drop 'Skyscraper' Next Tuesday

Demi Lovato is ready to launch her comeback. On Tuesday the singer will drop her highly anticipated new single, "Skyscraper." It will debut on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, and the singer will also call in to chat with Seacrest about the track.

This marks Lovato's first big release of any kind since leaving treatment earlier this year. And while little is known about the song, Lovato told MTV News last summer that she was planning on making more R&B-sounding music.

"I'm now just taking that next step and learning how to make my music more radio-friendly but also stay very artistic, and for me that's R&B," she said, revealing her dream of collaborating with Drake or Trey Songz. "I can put my vocal stylings on songs that are R&B and it showcases my vocals more than just singing really loud on a rock song."

In a Seventeen magazine blog post, she wrote, "My first single is really special to me — to me it symbolizes my journey from the person I was to the happy healthy person I am today, and the fact that people are able to rise above anything, despite the odds."

Lovato revealed on Twitter that she has shot a video for the new track, but no word yet on when it will drop. Just this week, she tweeted that she had recorded a duet for her forthcoming album, but she didn't reveal with whom. In Seventeen she wrote that she wanted her new album to empower her fans.

"With my new album, I'm hoping to provide inspiration for girls everywhere who are going through the same issues I've faced," she said. "I think this will come through in a lot of the material."
