Another year, another unbelievably action-packed Video Music Awards. As expected, viewers were treated to mind-blowing performances and several jaw-dropping surprises. The most unexpected moment came courtesy of Beyoncé Knowles, who not so subtly announced to the world that she and husband Jay-Z are expecting their first child.

When B unbuttoned her sparkly jacket and rubbed her belly with a knowing smile, after which the camera panned to a visibly elated Jay-Z and Kanye West cheering from the audience, the Nokia Theatre was bursting with warm and fuzzy well-wishes for the soon-to-be parents. And that very public moment of celebration was just the beginning.

When Beyoncé returned backstage to her dressing room, she was greeted by a team of people who enveloped the visibly happy star with hugs, cheers and congratulations.

"I'm free!" she said to one of the well-wishers, indicating that she and Jay are thrilled to not have to keep such a big secret any longer. "We're all free!" she said to the group.

A few minutes after her arrival backstage, she was joined by her husband, a very excited West (whose first words upon entering the dressing-room area were "Where is Beyoncé?" as if he could not wait to give B a huge hug) and her former Destiny's Child ladies, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Even with the doors to their dressing rooms closed, the applause and whoops of joy could be heard everywhere backstage.

"That was an eventful night, to say the least," Jay, still smiling, said to some of the revelers in the hallway, who continued to shower him with congratulations and hugs.

'Apollo 18' Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

We shed some light on the mysterious lunar adventure.
By Eric Ditzian

Let's give the folks responsible for "Apollo 18" some credit: The viral marketing campaign behind their moon-landing horror flick has been convincing enough that NASA has had to come out and declare, " 'Apollo 18' is not a documentary. The film is a work of fiction."

We're not exactly convinced the American public was starting to believe Apollo 18 wasn't, in fact, a canceled moon mission but, as the film suggests, a cover-up to hide a gruesome lunar run-in with alien life forms. Nor are we certain a government statement will have any effect on conspiracy-minded kooks other than to make them think, "See, man, I told you — they're hiding something!"

"Apollo 18," for its part, certainly is hiding something. The Weinstein Company is following the "Paranormal Activity" playbook, doling out only pieces of information about the "found-footage" film and hoping moviegoers shell out cash this weekend to find out the full story. We've gathered all those pieces together so you'll know everything there is to know about "Apollo 18" before hitting the theater.

Word of the project first popped up last fall. "Wanted" director Timur Bekmambetov was spearheading the effort, a story that would take the existing urban legend about Apollo 18 and inject some alien scares into it. A press release declared that Bekmambetov had been hired to shoot a documentary about the Russian space station and came across never-before-seen footage of the space disaster in Russia's archives. Trevor Cawood, a visual-effects vet from the "Matrix" films, came onboard to direct, but he was quickly replaced by Spanish filmmaker Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego.

The new director, in turn, was soon joined by a teaser poster: an astronaut's boot print next to an alien creature's print and the tagline looming above: "There's a reason we've never gone back to the moon."

The trailer touched down on the Web in February. And we were immediately freaked out. What was up with the dusty, cracked space helmet? And that gnarly looking infection? And the zombie-looking dude?

Questions — many, many gross questions. But we started to piece some of them together. NASA and the Department of Defense sent two astronauts to the moon on a secret mission in 1972. They discovered some non-American footprints. Had the Russians been there too? Hmmm. One of the NASA astronauts was bitten by some kind of alien creature, leading to a psychotic breakdown. Damnnnnn. Thus began the cover-up. Or the conspiracy theories. Heck, even NASA might have seen something coming, as an agency-commissioned study, called the Brookings Report, seems to predict the "discovery of artifacts from alien life forms on the surfaces of the Moon, Mars or Venus." Spooky!

All shall be revealed Friday (September 2), when "Apollo 18" hit theaters. Before then, we've got one last piece of video to bring you — and freak you the eff out. It's got a terrified Russian astronaut, shaky footage of the lunar landscape and, well, we're not exactly sure what happens at the end. But we're pretty sure things didn't end well for the spaceman.

Check out everything we've got on "Apollo 18."

What do Britney Spears and Usher have in common? Well, they are both global superstars with a back catalogue of tunes that have kept fans dancing for a really long time and they both recently hooked up with will.i.am for tracks on their latest releases (the Black Eyed Peas mastermind worked on the pop vixen's Femme Fatale tune "Big Fat Bass"). And, if Spears has her way, she and the "OMG" singer could be hitting the road together.

When Spears sat down to talk with Sway Calloway for her "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale" special — airing Sunday (April 3) at 9 p.m. ET on MTV — the singer revealed that Usher is first on her list of artists she'd like to join her on tour.

"Oh, I'm so excited. I'm really excited about going on tour, very," she explained about her forthcoming summer trek, which happens to have a spot open on the bill now that Enrique Iglesias has pulled out of the gig. "I think Usher's really great right now. I think he's really hot right now. That would be cool [to tour with him]."

The North American road trip is expected to kick off June 17 in Sacramento, California, and will run for 26 dates, winding up on August 13 in Toronto. More details will be announced soon.

The "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale" special is a mixture of behind-the-scenes footage of the singer as she wraps up production on her album, which dropped this week, as well as an inside look at her life and fans. In addition, those who couldn't make Spears' recent nightclub show in Las Vegas will get to see her as she takes the stage in her latest pop incarnation.

Don't miss "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale," airing Sunday (April 3) at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.

The brand new white Rolls-Royce Phantom -- which usually cost around $250,000 -- was wrapped up with a bow ... and delivered outside of the fancy Beverly Hills hotel Petra is staying in while her $85 million mansion is being worked on.

Ever since they were first announced, the O Music Awards have proudly proclaimed themselves the untraditional alternative to the staid world of red carpets, acceptance speeches and celebrity glad-handing.

And for further proof of that point, consider the following: Though the inaugural O Music Awards won't premiere until April 28, the first award will be handed out on Monday at 4 p.m. ET ... and it's a big one.

For weeks, fans have been voting for the Most Innovative Music Video through the O Music Awards official site, and on Monday — in a roundtable debate moderated by MTV News' James Montgomery — a winner will be crowned.

The O Music Awards Debate for the Most Innovative Music Video, presented by FUZE®, will stream live on OMusicAwards.com and MTV.com. Joining Montgomery around the table will be acclaimed video director Wayne Isham, Mashable's Brenna Ehrlich and some super-secret celebrity guests.

The Black Eyed Peas, Ke$ha, My Chemical Romance and more will also take part in the discussion about just what makes a video truly innovative, and the folks who are nominated for the award — a list that includes Arcade Fire, Robyn, OK Go and Andy Grammer — will also Skype in to make the case for why their video deserves to be named Most Innovative.

On Monday morning, the original list of 10 nominees will be whittled down to the top five vote-getters, and then, during the debate, our roundtable and the Internet audience will cut that list down to the final three. At the very end, we'll announce the winner of the very first O Music Award for Most Innovative Video.

The inaugural O Music Awards will stream live from Las Vegas at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT on OMusicAwards.com. Tune in to see who will reign supreme in categories like Most Viral Dance, Funniest Music Short and NSFW Music Video!

Britney Spears Drops Official 'Till The World Ends' Remix

New track with Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha follows leaked version, plus Brit tweets single's cover art.
By Jocelyn Vena

Just days after it was leaked on Friday, Britney Spears and her femme fatales, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha, dropped their official remix of "Till the World Ends."

The new version of the song was produced by Dr. Luke and Dream Machine. Brit half-whispers " 'Till the World Ends' remix" before the beat kicks in and Nicki hits her verse hard. She spits fierce lines like, "Sniff, sniff, cries/ I done slayed your whole entire f---ing life."

Then Britney's sex-kitten vocals kick in for the song's first verse. "That's Britney, bitch! I'm Nicki Minaj and that's Ke$ha," the Queens MC declares before K sings the chorus. The beat is harder, the loops are sassier and the song is grimier than the original version, which was the second single from Femme Fatale. The newly added dubstep portion takes the one from "Hold It Against Me" to a new level by adding in bass-heavy synths.

Ke$ha, of course, wrote the track for Britney, and the ladies certainly don't seem to mind sharing the spotlight with each other. The official track isn't much different than the version that leaked over the weekend, though Spears did have something brand-new to share with her fans just as the song dropped on iTunes and streamed on her website.

Spears tweeted the artwork for the single, which features the original press photo of Spears along with separate photos of Nicki on the left and Ke$ha on the right. Spears wrote, "@NickiMinaj @Keshasuxx Too much fierceness for one cover! Thanks for lending your voices girls... #TTWEREMIX — Brit"

Spears and Minaj have been hanging out a lot in the lead-up to their summer tour. They hung out at the Factory nightclub on Friday night after Minaj's show in Los Angeles. Spears later wrote, "Early rehearsal after a late night with my girl @NickiMinaj. Can't WAIT to get out on the road with you."

What do you think of the "Till the World Ends" remix? Tell us in the comments!
