Drew Ryniewicz Speaks on X Factor Ousting, Receives Encouragement from Justin Bieber

Drew Ryniewicz is no longer a contestant on The X Factor. She was surprisingly eliminated last night, following Tuesday's seated cover of "Billie Jean."

But there is a bright side for the 14-year old singer: her musical hero, Justin Bieber, gave Drew a shout-out soon after the results show came to an end.

"@drewryniewicz keep your head up," Justin wrote. "I lost my first competition too. this is just the beginning for u. never say never. best wishes."

On a conference call with reporters this morning, meanwhile, Ryniewicz said she's come to more peace with her elimination than her mentor, Simon Cowell.

“He feels guilty," Drew said. "I don’t think he should feel guilty at all because I got to the top 7. Not everybody can win this show, and he has two girls left representing him.”

Still, the young crooner admits to wishing she could have showed viewers “that side of me that is a teenager who dances around — the fun side. I’m definitely going to do that with my album.”

Overall, Drew refers to The X Factor as "the greatest experience of my life," adding:

"And everyone’s going to be going home, whether they’re the winner or someone else, in the next few weeks. So for me to have made it this far is an honor. For me to be on the first X Factor [in the] U.S.A. and, you know, just to be able to say that I’ve worked with Simon Cowell, and I’m best friends with Melanie and Rachel Crow."

It's certainly not a bad position to be in. We wish Drew all the best.

Lady Gaga Doubles Up At Grammy Nominations Special

Gaga opens and closes the show, with an assist from country duo Sugarland.

Anyone who has ever seen Lady Gaga is aware that she knows how to work a look. And on Wednesday's (November 30) "Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!," she worked two of them, both about as different as could be.

As she announced earlier, Gaga served as both the opening and closing act during the telecast, and, of course, those two roles required two totally different sides of the Mother Monster. She started things off with a steampunk-y version of "Marry the Night," opening the song on a stage littered with smoking pipes and scattered bits of scrap metal. Her face done up like a skeleton (or perhaps Zombie Boy?), wearing a black cloak, she solemnly sang the song's opening lines, as a group of gothed-up dancers cavorted around her.

Take a closer look at this year's Grammy nominees through photos!

As the beat kicked in, she shed her cloak (revealing a sport coat, matching underwear set and, of course, thigh-high boots) and hit the harmonies hard, while guitars wailed and those dancers posed and popped. Then the whole thing gave way to a particularly fierce dance segment, which brought the performance to a close and earned a standing ovation from the industry-heavy crowd (David Guetta seemed particularly pumped, it should be noted).

And after the nominations were revealed, Gaga was back to wrap things up, and she did so in true Grammy style, joined onstage by country duo Sugarland for a husky, musky version of "Yoü and I." Seated at the piano, she traded verses (and a whole lot of suggestive glances) with Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles. Gaga changed a couple of the song's lines — "With your high cowboy boots on," "Oh Sugarland, it's been six whole years" — to fit the occasion and pounded on the keys as the song built to a bluesy guitar solo from Sugarland's Kristian Bush.

The whole performance wound down with Gaga and Nettles swapping extended vocal runs, and as the audience gave them another standing O, the three embraced and laughed mid-stage. All in all, it was pretty much the kind of night we've come to expect from Gaga: She worked two seemingly disparate looks, brought together some equally disparate musical genres and, oh yeah, even picked up an Album of the Year nomination for Born This Way. And, as always, she made it look pretty effortless.

What did you think of Gaga's performance? Let us know in the comments!

Radiohead To Release Live Home Movie, From The Basement

In addition to announcing the first slew of dates on their North American tour in 2012, Radiohead also announced this week that they will be releasing a live DVD/ Blu-Ray, entitled From the Basement, which, I know, sounds like an R. Kelly home movie that you really don?t want to see.

The live film finds the insanely popular rock band playing their newest album, The King of Limbs, live and in its entirety, in the basement of their long time producer, Nigel Godrich.  The film will also come with ?performances of unreleased tracks ?The Daily Mail? and ?Staircase,? as well as single ?Supercollider,? and will be available as a Blu-Ray/ DVD combo, or simply DVD-only.

The band is currently selling preorders of the film on their website, with promises of a Christmas delivery.  The film will then be officially released via retail outlets in January of 2012, just in time for that big tour of the United States.  So now you can Radiohead in your own home, playing for you whenever you want, and, thanks to your remote control, forced to do whatever you say or want? which, come to think of it, really does make it sound even more like an R. Kelly home video.

What do you think of the Radiohead news?

Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Ne-Yo Have A Few Royal Wedding Gift Ideas

From 'guyliner' to American delicacies like Uncrustables, Kathy Griffin, Mike Posner and more tell us what they'd get Will and Kate.

What kind of wedding gift do you give the royal couple who has everything?

The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is on Friday (April 29), so MTV News reached out to some of our favorite Hollywood celebrities — from Ke$ha to Adam Lambert. Fortunately, they had some solid ideas!

"I haven't met them, so it would be kind of awkward," the "Tik Tok" singer admitted to MTV News. "I might paint them something. Maybe I'll paint them a guitar."

Like Ke$ha, other celebs had suggestions that were from the heart, even if they weren't the most practical.

"I will go out on a limb and say these two individuals maybe haven't had Uncrustables before in their life. I would get them a strawberry Uncrustable," Mike Posner said about the pastry.

David Cook followed up on the all-American food idea. "I feel like they have everything except maybe they probably don't have an Applebee's gift card. I'll go [with an] Applebee's gift card," the "American Idol" alum said.

Other stars said they'd gift the British prince and soon-to-be-princess with an item they were personally best known for.

"I'd probably buy William some eyeliner," Lambert said. "He could do that, he could rock that look. I think."

Ne-Yo was more empathetic, saying he would give gifts that could help shield them from photographers and blend in with everyday people. "Three years' supply of sunglasses. Yeah, put them on. A bunch of baseball caps, throw those on, and try to move around like regular people," the singer said. "I can't imagine what it would be like having to live under that big of a magnifying glass your whole life ... and fake mustaches, that's what I'd give them."

Brooke Burke went the more traditional route, saying she would get Will and Kate a journal to record the big event. "I would ask them to really take the time to write down thoughts and phrases and wishes," Burke said. "And not really to lose sight of how they feel about each other now and to really hold on to that feeling."

Kathy Griffin had good intentions but the comedian couldn't resist a puke joke.

"If I had to get the royal couple a gift, I would get them the Royal Couple Vomit Bag, which someone sent me a photo of," Griffin told us. "So you can actually buy vomit bags with their image on it, and I think that that is an honor and I hope that they see it as such."

What would you give to William and Kate? Share your ideas in the comments section!
